‘This Is Not Hell! This Is New Mexico’

I took this photo outside Estancia NM. If you were to turn 90° left, you'd see the abandoned house for which I was actually there to take photos (to accompany my rewrite of the Wikipedia article on the underrated miniseries The Lost Room). When I built my five new M–F lock screens recently, this is the photo I specifically use as my background on Isasauce days (aka Wednesdays) because this was taken the day after he metaphorically carried me while I was catastrophically and violently ill for twelve straight hours. He took over driving, he kept me warm, he bought me medicines and water, and he did everything in his power to help me feel better while the food poisoning passed.

I don't like to necessarily dwell on my misery of that time, but I love this photo for its aesthetics, and its reminder of how I only got to take it (and the others) because my friend took such good care of me.
