I hate the living.

Fifteen hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat. And fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know… tomorrow.

I love this Men in Black quote, especially the last line. I think it’s one of the things that keeps me going: the urge to know (or do) more tomorrow. I know that statistically I’m going to miss out on everything (knowledge for which I can never decide whether Linda Holmes should be praised or damned), but I can’t help wanting it anyway.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still wildly misanthropic and mostly hopeless for the overall future (“People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.”), but I’m also looking forward to what I’ll know… tomorrow.
