heckuva

today -- er, yesterday I woke up before noon. (fanfare, I know) I did so intending to call my interim youth pastor, Ryan. We'd made extremely tentative plans to get together tod -- yesterday to wipe his constantly crashing computer. Not a bad comp, 1.13p3, 512PC133, little of this, little of that; all in all what should be a standup computer. Yet, you can't run freakin' IE w/o either BSODing, RUNDLLing, or just a good ole fashioned EXPLORER error. So we figgered an OS overhaul would do the trick. No prob, we get together with minimal hassle (I, of course brought my comp for utilize the DSL), backup essentials, whip out the CD, boot from CD, and then spend the next 11 frikkin' hours trying to install that *$&-@*š$&*, š°³-¿ç½§@!¥µ OPERATING SYSTEM!!!!!

bad RAM. One new hdd, three fistfulls of hair, and very little sustinence later; it was discovered that the stick of 512PC133 was bad. Ran home, grabbed some surplus RAM, threw it in and that was it. The agony was over! Joyous celebration! We could finally....start....installing the....operating system.

more time than is proper to mention later, the OS is installed, Norton and OfficeXP are snug in their bunks, I'm still leeching DSL, and I think all this schtick is going to be the death of me....

;^) Man, I love to do this stuff!
